Agrologist-In-Training Requirements
Assessed at Application
1. Demonstrated Formal Agrology Knowledge in a Canadian Context

- 1-year Canadian agrology-related experience, or
- Domestic education with lab-specific agrology-related experience, or
- Completion of Competency Development Program (other Cdn agrology industry/formal education experiences).
After Admission and Registration Committee Approval
2. Jurisprudence & Ethics (J&E) Seminar and Assignment
Attend 2-hour virtual seminar, then complete online assignment.
Invitations to the seminar will be sent by email.
3. Annual General Meeting
Attend meeting to experience governance aspects of registration. Generally held virtually at the beginning of April.
4. Mentorship Certification Form
Your mentor must be a registered agrologist with Agrologists Manitoba. If you are looking for a mentor, check the online registry “Find an Agrologist“. Once your mentor has agreed to the role, submit their name through your online profile. After mentorship is complete, mentors will complete and submit the Mentor Certification Form.
5. Continuing Competency
Complete the Continuing Competency Self-Assessment Form which asks registrants to self-evaluate:
- Area of practice
- Gaps in competency
- Learning styles
- Learning activities
