Lance Derksen

Lance was born and raised on a grain/special crop/hog farm near Plum Coulee, MB.  He obtained a Commerce Degree from the University of Manitoba, with majors in Marketing and Human Resources.  During the past 20 years, he had worked exclusively in agriculture related roles, initially with Maple Leaf Foods, in the accounting department in Winnipeg.  Later he had a Marketing role with MacDon also in Winnipeg before moving into agriculture banking/financing.  In 2007, he started with Farm Credit Canada first as a Relationship Manager, and later as a Senior Relationship Manager, working in both the Winnipeg and Morden offices, in both primary agriculture and agri-business lending roles. 

He worked for CIBC since 2014 as a Senior Manager and Team Lead, managing the commercial and agricultural lenders in the Pembina Valley.  During his time with CIBC, he has assembled both a larger team internally and client portfolio built on a close relationship management, and a focus on referrals.  He has been a past board member with the Risk Management Association, Manitoba Chapter. 

Extracurriculars include baseball and curling as a player/coach/manager, and also volunteer with Oak Bluff Bible Church, recently chairing a pastor search committee, and participate on a setup team.  Lance lives in Oak Bluff with his wife Vickie, and two children, Quinn and Chase.
