Provincial Council Profile

Peter Manness, P.Ag.

Peter is a graduate of the University of Manitoba with a Bsc. in Agribusiness in 2001. His summers throughout his education were spent in the crop input industry along with helping on the family farm in Domain, MB.

After graduation he started working with Elite Swine (Maple Leaf) as part of their finishing barn service team, providing assistance and oversight to various hog barns in Manitoba. He then moved to Brandon and took on a new role assisting in the coordination of manure management planning and application for company sites in Western Manitoba. Peter received his professional agrologist designation in 2004. He was in the first group to complete the Manure Management Planner course offered by Assiniboine Community College.

In 2006 Peter started at MNP in Winnipeg with the farm management consulting group. This team helps to implement solutions on a wide range of issues for primary agriculture producers and agriculture industry groups. Seeing an opportunity to continue to expand these services to more farms in Manitoba, his family moved to Brandon in 2012, where they have been ever since. The focus of his work centers around financial analysis, future management planning and farm transition planning. Peter is also a member of the Saskatchewan Institute as his clientele stretch into Eastern Saskatchewan.

Peter is an active member of the Brandon community. He has volunteered as a coach on local sports teams, as the treasurer of the local parent advisory council, and as a statistician for the Brandon Wheat Kings.
