This position is a part of the Regional Development Services within the Sector Development Branch. Regional Development Services is comprised of Professional Agrologists and Resource Development Agrologists that are the front-line contacts for the ministry. Programs and initiatives are informed by strong industry and Agrologist expertise and local knowledge, providing broad-based local insight and intelligence critical to the success of the Ministry in meeting current and future objectives.

Developmental opportunity- Applicants will be appointed to the appropriate classification level based on their qualifications.

Entry Level Requirements – LSO1 – Resource Development Agrologist:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture or a related natural resource field, and three years related* experience; OR
  • Master’s Degree in Agriculture or a related natural resource field, and one year of related* experience.
  • Related experience includes front-line work experience directly related to agriculture in farm business management, animal, soils, or crop practices.
  • Enrolled or immediately eligible for registration as an Agrologist-in-Training or Articling Agrologist with the British Columbia Institute of Agrologists.

Intermediate Level Requirements – LSO 2 – Resource Development Agrologist:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture or a related natural resource field, and three years related experience; OR
  • Master’s Degree in Agriculture or a related natural resource field, and one year of related* experience.
  • Related experience includes front-line work experience directly related to agriculture in farm business management, animal, soils, or crop practices. • Registered as a Professional Agrologist, or immediately eligible for registration as a Professional Agrologist, with the British Columbia Institute of Agrologists.

Full Working Level Requirements – LSO3 – Regional Agrologist:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture or a related natural resource field, and five years related* experience; OR
  • Master’s Degree in Agriculture or a related natural resource field, and three years related* experience.
  • Related experience includes front-line work experience directly related to agriculture in farm business management, animal, soils, or crop practices.
  • Registered as a Professional Agrologist, or immediately eligible for registration as a Professional Agrologist, with the British Columbia Institute of Agrologists.
