Reporting to the Claims Services Director, the Special Crops Agronomist is responsible for supporting the development and improvement of MASC programs, in addition testing and reviewing new technologies to assist in adjusting and calculating claims. The incumbent will also be responsible for the improvement and creation of adjusting procedures for various programs offered by the Corporation, with a focus on forage, potato, and vegetable crops along with wildlife and predation claims. The Special Crops Agronomist is responsible to provide agronomic advice in the settlement of specific claims as well as ensuring adjustors are trained to provide consistent high quality adjustments province wide.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post secondary education in agriculture or related field or equivalent combination of related education and experience maybe considered
- Experience with general agricultural practices including crop scouting and diagnostic techniques
- Experience researching, analysing and problem solving
- Experience interpreting and applying policies, procedures, regulations and contracts
- Experience building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to maintain accuracy and pay attention to detail
- Experience using Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, OneDrive, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) in a cloud-based environment.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registration with or eligibility for registration with the Manitoba Institute of Agrologists is an asset.
- Bilingualism is an asset
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Must possess a valid driver’s licence, access to a vehicle and the ability to travel within the Province of Manitoba.

SALARY: $73,288 to $91,558 per annum (under review)
