Steve Ganczar Tech.Ag., CCA

Steve Ganczar is a Senior Market Development Agronomist for Cargill and covers the Parkland area of Manitoba.   In his role, he provides sales and agronomy support to his colleagues and farm customers.

His love for agriculture was sparked early being raised on a dairy, cow-calf, and grain farm.    Since Steve moved back to Dauphin, the farm has transitioned from a cow-calf to grain operation.  Today, along with his wife Carissa and daughter Hayley, they produce cereals, oilseeds and soybeans with many of the acres dedicated to field scale trials of new varieties or products.

Steve started his career in agronomy then took a 13 year leave to be a Senior Agricultural and Commercial Lender which helped him gain valuable experience in budgeting and financial structures, risk management and succession planning.    After 13 very successful years in finance, the agronomy passion was too strong, and he decided to make the move to Cargill.

He approaches problems with a multifaceted perspective, drawing from his diverse roles within the agriculture industry.  He is known for his ability to take complex technical information and make it easy to understand and apply, making him a true partner in his clients’ businesses.

He is a graduate of the Agribusiness Program from Assiniboine Community College, holds his Professional Agrologist Designation, is a Certified Crop Advisor, and is 4R Fertility Certified.
